So how do I check the total armor that my toon has?
I don't see it anywhere within the Inventory or Hero windows.

Put the cursor on ya armor and add up all the numbers.

oh they really have to update the toon character sheet

Although that will give you the "total armor", the game couldn't care less what that value is. For every attack, each armor slot has a chance to be hit, and only the armor value of that slot counts.

No point in adding it up anyway, hits are all locational.

Look at the armor per piece, add to it armor from shield/weapon/focus, add to it armor from skills. As stated, each armor piece stands on its own, you do not add them all up for 600 AL, rather it is chest is 80 (+20 vs physical, +16 from shield, +5 from weapon, +38 from Dolyak, etc).

As talking about locational, there are percentages of getting it in the body.

35% chest, 15% foot, 15% hands, 15% head, and 20% legs I think..

According to GuildWiki:

* Head - 12.5% of hits (this goes up if the enemy is on higher ground than you.)
* Chest - 37.5% of hits
* Hands/Feet - 12.5% of hits (each) or 25% total.
* Legs - 25% of hits
